Love Letters

A group show curated by iSquared Gallery for Incub8r

“This collection showcases art that embodies the theme of artists’ emotions and connections, distilled into personal compositions akin to Love Letters. Through these works, viewers are invited to explore the diverse manifestations of love letters in art and to appreciate how artists skilfully convey their emotions and experiences through their creative expressions.

The collection aims to broaden perspectives on what constitutes a love letter and to illuminate the ways in which artists communicate their innermost feelings through their craft.”

- iSquared gallery, 2024

My love letter showcased by iSquared gallery was a three piece, multimedia collection titled ‘Teddy Bear Picnic’ - two quilted scrap fabric hoops (see below) along with a digital print (see above).

The series was majorly influenced by my community of friends in Canberra, their incredible artistry and the inspiration they’ve contributed towards my art practice. Community is such an important aspect of the human existence, life would be pointless without the opportunity to share and feel connected. I would have frequent making days and creative sessions with my friends in Canberra that always led to fresh perspectives and new ideas. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my artistic peers Paris Robson and Ava Marinates to name a couple, and our creative parallel play.
